FISH’S POD

A new and innovative training aid.

  • Need something different in your training regime?
  • Frustrated with not being able to measure a players decision making under pressure?

Fish`s pod is the answer!!!

With some simple but effective drills you can now challenge your players to work against the clock and accumulate a score that can be recorded and used as a reference throughout the year to assess a player’s development in this area or highlight an area for improvement.

Placed into game sense drills it allows that competitive nature to be extracted from within your playing group.

Available in February 2010 this lightweight (approximately 2.5 kg) yellow metal frame comes in 2 sizes. 125cm to the centre of target for the big boys and a junior version which stands at 85cm to the centre of the target. A mid size may also be available depending on demand.

The target opening is approximately 60cm by 30cm which is equivalent to approximately double the size of a full size football. This makes for greater accuracy under pressure for the older players and encourages the younger players as they use smaller size footballs.

The use of this new and innovative training aid is only limited by your imagination. A starter drill pamphlet is available with every purchase which includes 4 different drills using 1-4 frames.

Plan to Win welcomes ‘Mark Fisher’

Plan to Win is pleased to announce that Mark Fisher has joined our team.

Mark (or ‘Fish’ as he is commonly known) comes with a wealth of experience in football and in most recent times has been heavily involved in junior football; coaching junior teams from U11’s through to U16’s. Mark made such an impression with his football knowlwedge, enthusiasm for the game and ’ability to develop young kids’ that the Eastern Ranges U18’s (TAC Competition) have secured his services as one of their Assistant Coaches.

Mark  will be a fantastic addition to the Plan to Win team and I’m sure the clubs we work with will be impressed with what he has to offer.  Feel free to contact Mark at mark@plan-to-win.com

Plan to Win are pleased to announce that we have formed a partnership with Upper Ferntree Gully Junior Football Club that will commence immediately in preparation for the 2010 season and beyond.

Both parties are firm in their belief that developing players at the junior levels is critical. It not only provides them with the skills, knowledge and confidence for future years should they choose to continue playing; investing in them will hopefully encourage them to make the transition into senior football with the same club.

Plan to Win’s role will be to work with, develop, support and enhance the knowledge of the junior coaches  in the various age groups to ensure they are able to provide the players with the best possible chance to develop in all areas of their football as they move up through the age groups.

Upper Ferntree Gully Junior Football Club have 8 teams from U9’s – U16’s with all competitive age groups playing in finals in 2009.  In our opinion, they have a very professional approach, are absolutely committed to the players and their development and are fast moving towards being a “club of choice” for junior footballers and their families.

To add further value to the partnership, Upper Ferntree Gully “Senior” Football Club have also invested in this development program and as the players reach the higher age groups (U16’s), Plan to Win will be running development sessions that include introducing the players to the senior club and coaches to ensure they are not daunted by the transition into the senior levels.

We thank Upper Ferntree Gully Football Club/s for the opportunity to partner them – we couldn’t be more excited about the future and look forward to working with everyone involved.

Watch this space for ongoing updates on our partnership and the progress we are making………………..

VAFA Update

After having some involvement in the VAFA competition over the last two years, Plan to Win has been interested in the results to date in A Grade. Yesterday we headed down to watch a much improved DE LA SALLE take on last years A Grade Runner-up COLLEGIANS.

What we saw was an impressive De La Salle outfit. Whilst they haven’t added alot of new faces, the young, inexperienced talent of the past two years (who have stuck together through lean times) have come of age and are playing an exciting brand of football.

The game was a great spectacle for the impartial supporter and whilst it was a ‘tug of war’ for two and a half quarters, De La Salle were able to break the game open just before three quarter time and then went on with it in the last quarter.

This game re-confirmed to us the importance of developing young talent.  Part of the Plan to Win business philosphy is based around the “education and development” of players as opposed to always looking to recruit “ready made” players.

Whilst Plan to Win does not “favour” any particular clubs, congratulations must go to the current coaches at De La Salle on the way they have educated, developed and promoted the young talent at the football club.
